OTHER DESIGN/ART

There are some works of design that do not fit into the typical categories that are found on the other pages in this site. Some of the works highlighted here are professional, and other are personal pursuits.

Umpqua Truck and Drift Boat Wraps

[Umpqua Feather Merchants]

Some of the more fun and challenging projects I have completed at Umpqua involved wrapping company vehicles and company sponsored/themed drift boats. The aim of all these designs was to capture the attention of all sorts of people on the road and on the water.

The trucks are used by the sales organization to do client visits and attend trade shows and dealer/client events. While many of the people at these events know the Umpqua name, most of those driving on the highway do not. Therefore the design uses striking, almost interruptive, fish imagery to seize attention. Typography and other brand elements give witnesses top-level information about the company while tying the trucks to the products and the brand.

The drift boats are mainly seen on the water by fishermen and other water sports people. The designs draw on the water vernacular and attempt to catch the attention of anglers and make them relate Umpqua to the cool, innovative and sleek products that Umpqua carries and sells.

Umpqua Branded Merchandise

[Umpqua Feather Merchants]

As Umpqua's "marketing department", I have been tagged with designing several pieces that don't fit into typical media. They include buffs (neck wraps), tee-shirts, hats, etc., which rely on their "cool" factor to drive sales and create a buzz.

Personal Art

(Luke Wennik Himself)

As an "artist" I have always been interested in several forms of art and have created a few pieces in what spare time an art director and a father/coach has. These have ranged from large murals and smaller paintings to still life and environmental photography.
